Advice please

Just popped to my my mums & neighbour said her bath tap dripping (under bath).

Anyway, the panels been smashed off & the taps weeping. I put my hand to tighten & its loose (someone's tried to fix it!).

I've in my car with no tools other than a flathead screwdriver which is under bath. Turn water off & unscrew connection. There's 4 fibre washers on top of each other. Now, people in the past have said its ok to use 2 but 4?

I think people have tried to fix to save, going back later with tools to fix.

Does anyone use more than 1? I never have but I'm still learning.

J , i always try use speedfit tap connectors , nipped up hand tight. But yes normaly 1 fibre washer needed .

yea only 1 never seen 4 used on one before

and the only reason they say use two is they cant get the first one off/out 😀

normally the nut wont fit then 😀 but get your point only on one or two threads

i've never needed to use more than one and a smear of LSX the pipe might be a bit short and they where being lazy, JG Speedfit tap conector and a new bit of pipe out of the Iso valve if there is one would be my fix
