Right I need to renew my LPG changeover and need to put LAV on it but what about the add ons? its more for working in static caravans as im not worried about touring caravans so I know I need closed flue fires but what about

HTRLP3 - Caravan LPG Gas Fires as I already have my gas fires so do I need to do this as well?
WATLP2 - Caravan LPG Water Heater I already have water heaters. Now I have spoken to 2 places to get prices and the 1 just didnt have a clue and the other didnt fill me with confidence when I was speaking to her as there were lots of ummmm and I thinks involved. I have also spoken to gas safe wh just said speak to your local training center so no use what so ever!

I ve just done my LPG and they told us anything with a chassis or towing option is basically considered a caravan, so a static caravan would still be considered the same as a tourer. So you would need your extra tickets. A park home is not considered a caravan so is covered by your normal LPG changeover.

All the statics I know of have closed flue system. The reason you have to do this assessment, is understanding what you should do to check the fire and flue, there's more to it than a spillage test, which is also different to the conventional gas fire. Ventilation is not just about the number and type of appliances, its about the number of people it is designed to sleep.

I thought park homes the RPH wese a separate qual.

Thanks for the replies. The htrlp3 isn't closed flue fires that's lp2.

I spoke again to gas safe and got someone who looked into it. They came back and said that as I have NG fires I didn't need to do htrlp3 just htrlp2.

Why can't they make it simple and put it all in LAV and just charge a little more.

ACS , in my view has far to many modules. At the end of the day, you are either qualified to do either, domestic nat gas, Lpg or Commercial. What's the point in having someone out there, that's just qualified to do Nat Gas cookers? You should be skilled and competent to do all.

Once again Gas Safe have got it wrong. Htrlp3 is the carver type of gas fire you find in tourers. You won't need it if you're working only in statics as I've never come across one in a static. The Carver fires are balanced flue heaters flued through the floor and the module covers clearances etc. to chassis rails, ventilation openings etc. your NG fires covers none of these things.

The water heater module is the mini unvented heaters that you find in tourers. Again you won't need it if only working in statics.

The other ticket you need if working in tourers is the boat warm air. These are the small fan flue blowers fitted to a lot of motor homes and the posher tourers.

Haha you have really got to love gas safe for their advice.

At least I dont need them though as I have no interest in working on tourers and its more that I live in an area with loads of caravan parks so dont want to turn the work down if it comes my way.

I agree completely if someone goes to do work in a house they should be able to work on all appliances in that house

coNGLP 1, CCLP 1 (LAV), HTRLP2 LPG, HRRLP 3 (LPG), REFLP 2 (LPG), WATLP 2 (LPG). Should cover you for the change over to LPG and static caravans and the appliances in these caravans.
