Name that Inlet Valve

Hi there,

This inlet valve is playing up and filling very slowly. I'm guessing there's something blocking it or a washers gone or something, but I am unable to either open up the unit or remove it from the stem. I wanted to find out what model and brand it is to try and understand what I'm dealing with a bit more and where I can source replacement bits before I go and break the thing in to twelve pieces! Would have been fitted around 2008 if that helps.

Honestly, you will have to replace the complete unit. I've had those overfill into the toilet bowl and was unable to find a replacement washer.

Use a new Fluidmaster brass shanked inlet valve.w

Isolate water to WC, flush toilet, use sponge to get last bit of water out. Undo nut connecting water pipe to threaded section of inlet valve under Cistern. Undo back nut. Remove old valve. Reassemble. Use a new red fibre washer on reassembly between nut and brass thread of valve

Im too tight to buy brass shank i stick with plastic must have fitted 20-30 never had any problem--yet

Hi all, thanks for advice. Have today replaced with fluid master and tossed the old one. Must admit I went with the plastic shank - brass not available at most local store and laziness kicked in.

Plastic is absolutely fine, if you are careful connecting it and line the pipe up properly you won't get it cross threaded,
