Hi
I'm due to get a boiler installed by my builder in the next day or two. Originally in the plans i was to get a worcester 38cdi. He a since offered the choice of this or a baxi duo 33 ?? He says his plumber favours the later whilst i'm a basically clueless and would like some advice on preference in the trade. It will need to run a 4/5 bed house with 3 bathrooms
Thanks in advance

as above nope nope it totally wrong

you want an unvented cylinder and heat only boiler etc and make sure the plumber is gas safe reg and g3 reg (for unvented cylinders)

Yes - it will struggle with 3 bathrooms. Is the plumber happy to fit it or is he just going with what the builder says?

I'm meeting the plumber tomorrow, everything been through the builder so far. It's one main family bathroom, a small ensuite with shower and basically a downstairs toilet with a shower (as we couldn't fit one in upstairs bathroom!!)
Is this going to be a major problem as we are pretty much committed money wise to a combi ?

yes as a combi will only do really one bathroom you could go down the storage combi route but will be the same price as an unvented system

Thanks
Will have a talk with the plumber then and put my concerns across. Out of interest which of the above boilers is peoples preference, just so i can see if i was getting an inferior product pushed on to me

Hi, welcome to the forum!

Get a proper plumber in and not this one the builder has recommended. You're asking for trouble if you go forward from here.

Don't say you weren't warned.

Thanks

Baxi would be considered on the lower end of the scale but both of them aren't right for what you're looking for them to do.

If it's about to be fitted why has this question only just popped up now? What did your builder quote for plumbing/heating works?

there not fit of purpose so doesnt really matter

Combi might be fit for purpose if customer says they only want 1 shower going at a time...that said, I wouldn't agree to fit a combi into a house like that.

currently have got a combi that was about 7 years old and on last legs, but have added extra rads and ensuite now

I think the boiler i was looking at is about £1,000 - 1,300. What kind of money would i be looking at to put in place something that is more suitable and does this mean a big boiler tank ? (space is at a premium)
