40k for a good allrounder. No self respecting engineer would work for £70 a day, might aswell stack shelves.

Given the situation you describe. Who ever you take on tell them there is a trial period, say two months to access their worth. With the rate that have been posted and to make a profit via the excise. What sort of charges to the client, will you loose more than you gain? You will probable find the majority of posters on here are self employed skilled and motovated, this is not always found with people seeking employment. Tread with care. Good Luck
