Any solutions in replacing a worn plastic white toilet hinge (looks like a piece of cheese)? Tried the B and Q version but it is not tall enough. After about 25mm from bottom of block to centre of where the rod goes in?

I think you will find it very hard to find an exact replacement. You may be better off replacing the whole seat for one with a metal hinge.

yes, I thought that would be the case.

Got myself a new one from b and q.

Lastly, any tips on how to clean the toilet top. The last hinge broke because of corrosion and has left a rusty orangy mark and the toiled itself. I would like to clean it up before I fit the new one???????????
