I hate thins rattling round my van and am looking for ideas on any way of storing large items, the main one is the benders, how do you store them? In my old van I used 22mm pipe clips but havent got space for this in new van.
Any photos or ideas for large items greatly appreciated including

Hammers
Trowels
benders
hose
levels
club hammer
silicone gun and silicone tubs
anything else

Also what do you do with those small talls that you need once in a blue moon but are very handy to get you out of the doody.

including
hep pipe release tools
tap reseating tool
cant think of any more at mo, but I guess you get the idea

i have my "all the time tools" a small bag, carries adjustables, screwdrivers, and electrical gear. basically everything i need to service / fault find a boiler.
i then have 2 tool boxes screwed to floor in van so they dont shift. 1 with stuff i should of taken in my 1st bag if it got complicated. then the other with install stuff i hardly ever use.
my pipe benders are the hilmor stand alones, that have the electrical equivalent dies and formers (all stored in 2nd box) they have 22mm foam insulation on the legs wrapped in gaffer tape and then just strapped to my home made racking (which stores all my stock stuffs.
i then have the van vault for rechargeables and stuff ( incidentally the milwauke 18v vacum cleaner is a nice bit of kit )
it works for me.
and my initial toolbag only weighs 5kg.
i love when my apprentice comes along with his all in tool bag including 24's and blowlamp to service a boiler. i make him bring it too job. it must weigh 40 kg. lol

brilliant, thanks.
so basically a bracket that is bent.

will order a few of them from toolstation and bend them a lil for the hose and benders, thanks for baring the cold to show me

he is a brave, kind, warm hearted man. he does not feel or fear the cold !
tell him the angle aint right and ask for another picture.

I store my benders in some 1 1/4 plastic clipped to my ply lined walls. Until tomorrow picking up a new van supplied by the company I'm sub-contacting to. Gonna have to rack it out & start again hope it's lined!!

I use a cable tie round the bender handles to stop it 'flapping' around when carrying it.

I have to ask, is there such a thing as a set of 15/22 benders with detachable or telescopic handles.
(Newbie/student on Lvl 2 Plumbing, hence the dumb question).

Not that i know of, besides if they did make them I think they would be rubbish due to the force needed to be exerted when bending 22mm.....

phew big words for a Friday............I think I need a lie down now!!!:speechless:

why ? imagine loosing a part !

Oh yeah, very good point there. As to why ... well I just like the idea of compacting things down to the minimum possible for travel on the bus/tube in london; I've not even upgraded my phone since they went big again.

Imagine that one.....yes mr insurance man I need insurance that covers me incase I hit a banker with my pipe benders on the tube..........
