Pipe bender storage

View the thread, titled "Pipe bender storage" which is posted in UK Plumbers Forums on UK Plumbers Forums.

Hello , has anyone come accross a plastic type tool box or similar to keep your pipe benders and other pipe working tools all together in. I have been using a cloth bag, but flux keeps rotting them and i`m getting fed up with searching the van looking for where the formers have dropped out.
thanks, malc.

I keep the formers in my blowlamp toolbox, they're not that big or heavy and can always find them. Also you can be pretty sure you already have that box with you if you need benders.

Drill a hole through the formers and a hole or holes through one of the bender arms, when not using, bolt formers onto arm,job done

Great minds think alike, that's exactly what have done for years, But I drilled and tapped the bender arm so no nut is needed

Bender flung in the back of the van, easily found it is bright yellow, guides in the top tray of my toolbox so i can see them.

Bender and formers (and other random stuff) live in an open topped ply box on top of the wheel arch lining of the van.

I keep mine in the box it came in but obviously it will fall apart at some point, i lost two 15mm guides last year!

Mine sits with one leg in a bit of waste pipe. The guides sit in the front of the store drawer. I've got two 15mm guides because I lost one last year and found it as soon as I bought a new one.

i lost one of my wide jaw bachos last week and i know soon as i go buy one it will turn up

a rubber seal from a soil fitting with a knot in the middle making a figure eight makes a good bender arm strap.

4" waste pipe standing upright is what I use to store the bender in my van. General plumbing tools, I have fat max open tote tool bag and have cut a variety of different size plastic waste pipe and created a honeycomb effect where I can store my tools in the bottom of the bag. It stops you pulling out half your tools out looking for one thing. Downside is if the bag falls over (only happened once) but will try and solvent weld pipe together or something when Im really, really bored...

This is how I store mine in the van. Formers stay in the toolbox

I keep my guides in a drawstring bag that was used to hold the pegs for a tent and I've taped this to the leg of the bender. On the bender itself, I've attached a long cable tie, so I can hang it from a hook in the van.

I used to have a bag which resembled a banjo case! was quite good but didn't last long, came free with a set of cheaper benders. I bought hilmors in the end but to be honest these were just as good if not slightly better, a lot smoother and the wheels never seized, unlike the hilmors. I gave them away before realising though!
