I am redoing my bathroom and fitted new tiles that are thicker than the previous ones. Now I have come to refit the shower bar the existing water pipes do not protrude far enough out from the wall to be able to fit the brackets and shower bar. The fitting require minimum 30mm, I have 20mm

can anyone offer any advice on how to get around this problem?

There's no trick of the trade I know to fix this. Shaun's spot on, either the tiles are coming off or you're going in through the other side of the wall.
