Hi Guys, I'm new to this forum and don't really know much about central heating,

We have a Potterton performa 24 boiler installed in our house. The main reason I'm here on this forum is for a little bit of help. I'll try and make my question plain and simple, here goes and I hope its understandable.
On the dial settings of the boiler their are 3 settings, the Clock icon, which I presume is pre-set times for the boiler to turn on and heat the house. another setting with the icon '1' and another with '0' I again presume the '0' is off all together. And have always thought the '1' icon to be to manuall switch the heating on and off. Can any of these setting options be used for the boiler to automatically switch on and off when the house has reached the temperature set by the thermostat, or are the only options manual and timer.

I look forward to any response.

Does the dial stay in the "0" position or 1???
Set the room thermostat to your desired temperature, but if you select using the timer (3on-off) per day over 2-5 or 7day respectively.
Alternatively your only option is not to set the clock and run boiler on constant till room stat reaches desired temp, then boiler should lock off..?

Hi,
The options on the dial can be selected manually, it doesn't automatically switch between the 3 options, the boiler has been on selection '1' all morning and I've just been up to check it and where the light is to say the burner is on, the light is out so I presume it has knocked itself off as the house as reached the desired temp, and I presume once the temp has fallen below it will re-ignite the burner to top up the heat?
