Potterton Performa 28. Heating comes on when DHW is operated.

Gents. Need an advice. Potterton Performa 28. Heating comes on when DHW is operated. Selector is on the Hot water only, yet, whenever hot water tap is operated, heating also comes on. Very annoying, as have to block heating for the day and open for the night. replaced the DHW diafragm on 3 way walve (diverter) no joy. Same output. Please advise.

Would it be possible for you to be more specific please. It is obvious that it is a diverter valve problem, as heated water is not routed properly. E.g. Hot water diversion is permanently open. Is there a shutter of some sorts which is stuck due to the scale or dirt obstruction. I am after the solution, replacement, clean, etc.

If it's making the switch and then going straight round the heating then you need to exchange the 3 way valve assembly, the part number is 248727. There is a cartridge inside this valve you can change which is a lot easier and cheaper but I'm not sure of the part number for this, you will have to check with the manufacture.
