Hi, new to the forum and looking for some advice if possible. I had an engineer out to look at my combi boiler (potterton performa). The power light is coming on, but no response to demand for hot water or central heating.

The engineer had a look inside and found the PCB was getting 240V in, but nothing out. Checked the pump and seemed to be running. I mentioned leading up to failure the radiators seemed to be coming on even when thermostat off. He said this could be the diverter valve, but couldn't check until PCB was replaced.

Been waiting for a week to get them back out to fix it, said they're still waiting on parts. When I said it shouldn't take so long to get a PCB they said it was a diverter valve they are waiting on. When I said I was told I needed a new PCB they said they were going to replace the diverter valve as that may be what's causing the PCB fault.

Now I'm obviously not a boiler engineer, but it seems to me that replacing the diverter valve to try and fix the PCB is making a mountain out of a molehill.

Are these guys trying to make this a bigger job than it is?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, D
