Fry fluxite...
Old school lol
is it? lol , come to think of it I started using it when I was an apprentice 11 years ago, but laco and power-flow were also available, tried both and found fluxite much nicer to work with..
Are you by any chance endorsed by Nokorrode 🙂Well got the Nokorode today. A 500ml pot delivered for a tenner. I have just made up a dozen joints with it and it is pretty good. it is a thick brown tacky consistency. The fittings slide onto the pipe nicely and the tackiness hold the fittings into position. The solder flows very well even vertical joints. The label states that it works with all common solders. There is a data sheet here
I made a load of joints up with Laco as a comparison after using the Nokorode and IMO the Nokorode came out the clear winner. I have been using Everflux for years and really like it. It is vicious stuff there is no doubt about it. I have had a couple of tubs of Everflux separate. The Nokorode looks a more stable product and is perhaps not as corrosive.
If any of you want to try the Nokorode send me a PM with your details and I'll send you a sample. It might take a wee while though as I might have to source some plastic pots from eBay or somewhere. The photos on my computer are the right way round but when they are uploaded they turn upside down. Could a Mod please fix the photo with the product label please?
