pre cast flues

had a few 80s pre cast flues fail spillage test due to cobwebs etc . was thinking of buying the shown brush and trying to attach it to a set of electricians fibreglass rods - so i can clean flue without taking apart . what do others use

Most precast flues get cobwebs around the ridge terminal and the last couple of foot of steel flue before the terminal. I would suggest it is still more favourable to unbolt the ridge terminal fitting and clear it out. You may have difficulty in reaching and clearing the cobwebs from the chimney opening, but I like your idear.

can the ridge gaskets still be obtained and the bolts seen a few realy seized and the gaskets in poor condition

Easiest way is to drop a length of thin rope down the flue and drag a rag through to clear any cobwebs.
