Hello all,
For my final year university project I am designing/improving a press fit tool such as R571011_A0001_M.jpg.
I need to find some user research from forums and questionaires ect so i was wondering if any of you could answer a few questions.

If you use this type of tool, why?
If you do not use a tool like this, why?
Are there any features you would like to see added to a tool like this?
Any other feedback would be great!

Thanks for your time

If you get to develop and market this based on our responses do we get a share of the profits?

Ha no it wont be developed, im just demonstrating my design for manufacture skills and i think the university own any ideas we create haha.
Thanks!

press fit is becoming more and more the norm and is used on both fluid and gas dependant on fittings and manufacturers instructions.

Myself? I'd like to see the tool have the ability to slice pipe (stainless and carbon steels) as well as crimp.

I'd like the machines to be smaller they're a bit bulky in confined spaces pricewise you need to speak to your local sales rep if you buy enough gear they can throw in a machine for free or at a big discount

Coming from a commercial background I can see the benefits with regards speed and cost especially on steel heating systems, but i would much rather have a threading machine and show a bit of skill and pride in my work. You cant beat the workout threading and screwing 2inch pipe gives you.

This product does not guarantee constant force technology, Unlike the Rothenberger press tools which are far superior in weight, balance. A drill like design press tool is ***bersome to use. Hope that helps?

Thanks alot people. I have put these suggestions into my specifications and ill be working on making the product cheaper/smaller with possibly a pipe cutting feature.
When im finished in 2 month ill post what i design. Once again thanks to everyone who has given me feedback.
If anyone else wants to add anything to this feel free.
