I always seem to have trouble putting a price to things. A mate of mine wants me to fit his bathroom for him. Not a problem but he is my old neighbour I don't owe him any favours just want him to get a good deal and not cut my own throat. He is going to strip tiles etc. All he want me to do is fit bath, semi recessed basin in vanity unit. Concealed cistern and pan. All in current positions. He also want me to fit an electric shower but the elected supply needs a new consumer unit so I have to consult my sparks on sorting those out for him. I wouldn't have to wait for tiling to be don't once I have stripped I can go for a refit of everything. What would you guys charge for this bearing in mind having to fit the vanity unit and cistern panels too.

Thanks in advance
Greg

Greg a simplw way of doing it which has been suggested on here before is to work out how many days it would take you and then multiply this by your normal daily rate i.e if you think it will take you 3 days then multiply this by your daily rate so if you charge 120-150 a day then 3 x 150 = 450 for labour add material prices if needs be or deduct if you think thats too high, i hope this helps.

I'd over-estimate rather than under (and charge a lower day rate). It's horrible being under pressure when you're newish.

bath and bath panels 180
basin in vanity 100
conceled cistern and cut panels 120
electric shower depends on pipework but if a cold feed needs to be run 110 if not 70 (sparks sort the feed out i dont get involved)

them prices are to my mum, my sister, joe bloggs down the street and little old martha. even the blind man with one leg and no money.

i find having set prices helps me out - i could probably throw (not literally) all that in, in one long day.
