Probably rudest customer ever

Kept this on the private forum because I didn't want them seeing it.

letting agent recommended me to do a gas safety to a private ll.

First of all they refused to give the office an invoice address so sent alarm bells off. Said they would pay cash so I went round.

ow didn't the office tell you the boilers not working........no because you didn't mention it to them!

anyway low pressure so no dramas. Checked we found 14mbar at full rate. Phoned baxi tech to check min pressure. Was told 18mabr on that boiler. Piped in 15mm back to meter looked like a bodge job throughout.

told them i would have to at risk it and I could check the rest of the appliances.

fat ugly midget then pipes up saying what's the point don't bother we will get someone else to do it if your not going to pass it.

i said okay well I will write the paperwork out and you should try the original installer. Turned out they still owe him money and have no receipt or anything and the last guy passed the llgs check.

i then explained why I can't leave it on etc. she's now well ****ed off as she wants to rent it.

then went downstairs after talking her husband through everything. I said to him I'll write the paperwork and it's just £40 plus vat for the hour.

she went mental and started shouting saying "I ain't fuc***ng paying it he ain't been here an hour and I asked for a gas safety that he hasn't done!"
Im not paying for it tell him to **** off!
Y should we pay when he hasn't done anything bla bla bla.

Husband was was okay and told her it's a fallout fee.

i said its my time at the end of the day and the bill needs paying.

she was shouting and going to the point I was getting really wound up. In the end she shut herself in a room and her husband went and got me the cash.

never had one that bad and I've worked for a lot of people.

I love em , get a few a year I just say no worries go outside ring mrs etc then they come out asking why am still here , I say waiting for gas board to come and cap your meter off I can't leave it it's the law funny how they find money

Thats a good one actually I haven't tried that but that's my answer for the next ar*e h**e that I get.
haye people like that, normally if I take the call I can sus them out and avoid going there in the first place.

if ive got to dis an appliance i try to do it before they can argue but ive had the entire family screaming at me including a cousin on the phone who happens to be gs telling me theres nothing wrong, i just go ok pick up tools go out and ring supplier if ive got time i hang around to watch lol

I know someone who had someone point a gun at him locked the door and said you ain't going till it's fixed. Fing and blinding screaming and shouting.

Bloke disconnected a live gas supply and simply said you pull the trigger were both dead.

Not a situation any of us would wish to find ourselves in

I'm unpredictable in these situations some times I'm calm and just about keep it together other times I fly off the handle, a particular Asian gentleman owed me 5k when I started off. He agreed to meet me and pay when I had finished at a job. Sent his wife ..... He didn't answer phone and strangled she had no money. I lost it ripped logic off the wall with my bare hands and threw it through patio windows cut all his carpets up with a Stanley knife and smashed the bathroom to bits. Capped gas and left. He askede for a cp12 two weeks later and told him if I saw him I would kill him. Drove to me and paid money. Said he was sorry and understood could I possibly fix bathroom for him. (Original job was labour only) - obviously his number is preeminently blocked. He must accept damage as a risk of shafting contractors.
