Q on Drayton LP241

I need to use a digital timer to provide some very simple timed switching, I have been donated a new Drayton LP241 to do this ... but only using in single channel mode as per attached sketch.

What I need is a single pole double throw arrangement (SPDT)
Requirement is Live to one pin when off and switches to another pin when on

I had assumed that I would simply use a live link to pin 1 and then I would get live on pin 2 when timer off (NC function) and this would switch to pin 3 when timer on.

Ideally I would like to utilise the 'HW' side of the 2 channels to achieve this ... though not critical. (as this is to control auxiliary HW system)

I am getting no switching at all - even if I put into overide 'ON' (both CH & HW) .... live is on pin 2 and stays on pin 2 - could be as simple as faulty unit, in which case I will get it exchanged at trade outlet.

Can you advise if my logic on connections is correct

The contacts are 'volt free' you have to put the link in place to get live onto the common

The contacts are not volt free on this programmer
1 hw off
2 ch off
3 hw on
4 ch on

So providing you are switching 230 volts use 1 and 3 or 2 and 4 no link required
If you are switching low voltage you will need the LP111 which is a single channel clock and does have volt free contacts
1 common
2 off
3 on

The manual for this states
"Note that the output contacts are voltage-free, so power needs to be put on terminal 1, either by linking to terminal 1 or by seperate supply"

However manuals can be wrong, I'll test today with link removed.

If it's a fairly new clock the manual is for both the single channel clock on one side and if you turn it over the two channel clock on the other side.

The only thing new on these clocks is the boost button. They have been the same clocks since they were ACL's
All programmers (2 channel) are live linked internally, timeclocks (single channel) you need a link unless you are using it volt free.

The issue was the diagram include with the unit showed putting in place a live link.

I had thought the diagram related to the unit it came with (LP241) but it didn't it related tpo the LP111 .........

OK ... tested again still no switching.
CH & HW on term 1 & 2 stay live whether 'On' period or 'Off'
CH & HW Pins 3 & 4 stay no voltage whether 'On' period or 'off'

So unit must be faulty - back to merchants it shall go.
