Hi all, im a noob this type of forum and to plumbing. So I hope I can explain things properly in order for you to help me.

I have recently moved into a new home and Im having a problen with my heating/hot water.

I have a vailliant condensing boiler with a hot water cylinder in the bathroom.

The heating works fine and so does the hot water but when I select hot water only the radiators still get hot.
After some research I thought it could be the motorized 3 way valve. However, it seems like the 3 way valve is working as it moves when it should do but I noticed that the flow doesent seem to go to the 3 way valve, instead it goes straight to the HW cylinder at the bottom and then I think it goes back out of the HW cylinder around the middle of the cylinder, through the 3 way valve in the wrong direction and into the radiator circuit.

Does this sound like the flow and return are plumbed into the hot water cylinder the wrong way around?

This is my first post here and I am currently unable to post images so I will look into this and hooefully get a picture up soon to help show you guys what pipe work I have here.

Sorry if I have not done a good job in explaining things here. Im still trying to get my head around what each pipe should be so any advice is very very welcome.

Thank you for taking the time to read this post.

Hi,

you need a plumber, could be a number of things, and the speed this forum slows typing down, I would be dead and buried before we got to the bottom of it. could be these:

stuck 3 port valve
crossed pipes
back flow
faulty bypass
pump facing wrong way

get yell.com up

As said above it could be any number of things. Post a message in the looking for a plumber section. [DLMURL="http://www.ukplumbersforums.co.uk/im-looking-plumber-gas-engineer/"]I'm looking for a Plumber or Gas Engineer[/DLMURL] and one of our members may be able to help.
