I am looking to find somewhere to buy old Barlo round top radiators. I want to match to the older style, with wider indentations down the front - new Barlo and Quinn radiators have much narrower indentations. My problem is that most builders seem to just throw them away when they strip them from houses. Does anyone know anywhere (even a scrap yard) that is a good place to find them?

I think the new Quinn rad is a 25mm pitch, as opposed to the 33mm pitch of the older rad. We do a 33mm pitch rad, but its grilled and panelled - and I imagine you want roll top?

Have you looked at Wickes rads? They have been made by Barlo (or lately Quinn) for 15 years or so - maybe they didnt upgrade to the 25mm pitch machine?

I know exactly what you mean, - I hate the look of the new Quinn rads & they don't match the old type. I highly recommend you take a look at the round top Myson radiators. Nice quality & bright white glossy paint finish. They have made the same basic panels for years & they are very very similar to the look of old Quinn rads, - only better IMO.
They won't match Barlo lengths exactly, but guess that won't matter if you are doing add on rads.
You can get Myson round top in imperial sizes & metric versions.

Thank you for the replies! Yes, I'm looking for roundtop radiators, so no grill and panel. I think the Myson radiators are the closest I'll get with a new radiator, but they have square indents on the front, rather than the rounded ones I have. I think Quinn supply Wickes, so they have the narrower indents. I haven't found any new radiators that are roundtop and have the wider, rounded indents that I am looking for, so I was thinking I would have to find old, reclaimed radiators...

Unless you are fitting a new rad close beside an old Barlo rad, then you wouldn't see the difference between old Barlo & Myson round top.
This might seem stupid, but the Myson panels have a much more pleasing to the eye design IMO.
Myson have a nice distance above the indents & the top of their indents is more square, which believe it or not is better looking I think.
I would never have rated Barlo, or their modern Quinn rads to be anywhere near as good as Myson in looks, quality & heat output.
