I have an RF205-TS radio controlled room thermostat which we hate for multiple reasons (including batteries falling out at regular intervals) which I would like replaced.

I'm assuming this would be an easy job but don't understand why this is wired into a Hager ESC225 25 Amp 2 Pole Contactor.

Ideally I would like to replace the thermostat with a Heatmiser Slimline-RF and two channel Heatmiser RF-Switch (230v AC 50Hz 1 Phase). Also have underfloor heating with Heatmiser which we love so looking for consistency plus looking to move everything to.

Would we still require the contactor for this setup? I ask because it just looks a bit botched (although working fine). Hidden inside a cupboard which nobody sees but I'm a bit OCD and don't like knowing it's there.

Forgot to say, the boiler is a Vaillant ecoTec 832. We have Underfloor heating which is controlled separately. This thermostat controls around 5 radiators

Thanks Shaun. As far as I can tell it just controls the temperature for the rads. Under floor heating is controlled by 4 separate thermostats per zone.

The plumbers fitted this one when we installed our underfloor heating and removed the original vaillant thermostat which seemed to work much better.
