Just a quick question regarding drains. I am digging out for theconnection of a new inspection chamber and pipework. I have a window of about200mm between the patio doors and the extension wall where the soil pipe has torun. On digging down I find the house footings and the extension footingsprotrude into the way where the rest bend needs to go. Is it allowable to usetwo 45 deg bends between the start of the soil stack at ground level andthe rest bend to bypass the footings. If not can you please tell me how to getaround this. If I run the rest bend from the top of the footings to the depthof the original drain the gradient will be more than 1 in 40. Hope this makesense

A primary ventilated soil stack should be straight without an offset.
This will be notifiable under Building Reg's H & they are unlikely to accept the offset. Can you not take some out of the footings (foundations) to accommodate the medium bend (minimum 450 R) you can always concrete back around the pipe & foundations once competed & tested.

I was afraid that I was going to have to break through the foundations. Would ask BCO but he wants £50 to come out just because it isn't a scheduled visit. thanks for your help, will probably e backwit more probs later In the build.
