Surely reducing flow temp will send the water with less heat and therefore take longer to heat the gaff up?

If you have a condensing boiler, the flow should be a low as practical (to achieve room temp in a reasonable time). If the return temperature is too high, then the boiler is not likely to condense.

I might have known the solution would involve the purchase of new tool/s clip on temp guage needed
