hi, can anyone help me. i attended a job to price up a bathroom suite and to my horror noticed the flue wasnt even connected to the elbow by about an inch due to the bloke who done the rendering!!!
i downed the boiler but now i need a replacement flue. problem is the boiler is obsolete. its a saunier duval therma classic f24e. does any body know where i can get my hands on a new flue??? or a good used one in the essex/london area? im really screwed as the client can afford a new boiler and i cant obtain a part...

Well you will just have to upset the roughcaster. Take a 4lb hammer to the wall and drop the flue and this time make sure it is fitted and secured properly.

It is not your problem, remember that.

Could you not put itback to the way it was before the guy came along (even if that meansknocking off a bit of the render, especially if it's a combi ( Iwould have thought H/W and Heating be more important to the custard than a nicelooking wall).

I'm not sure if itapplies here, but because you have 'downed' the boiler, don't you nowhave I 'duty of care now to the custard'. Maybe not, I could bewrong.

(P.S. Still doing mygas course, so I would confirm this information with someone moreexperienced)

His duty of care was with ID ing the boiler, hes done that now,Yes the next course of action might be to hack off a load of the newly rendered wall if the customer agrees. what if they dont agree? what if he cant get a new flue, whats he exected to do? buy a new boiler out of his own poc
