I would like to replace my gravity (non-pumped primary) copper hot water cylinder with a stainless steel one but have been unable to locate a stainless steel non-pumped cylinder.

1 - Does anybody know where I can get a stainless steel cylinder designed for gravity circulated primary?

or

2 - Does anybody have experience of using a stainless steel cylinder designed for pumped primary (eg Gledhill) in a non-pumped application?

Stainless steel cylinders are not made for gravity applications. You may get a non gravity one to work but the heat up time will be a lot longer if it does work.

Do you know why they are not made?

Are they made in other countries?

I would expect the reheat time to be longer if I used a pumped cylinder without a pump but do you know if it will work? Gledhill told me they only know of one customer who managed to get any gravity circulation but I find this hard to believe.
