Hello ..does anyone know how to drain systemate 3 thermal store? Lived opened the bottom drain vale but no water comes out.....is there an air I let point on the cylinder...any clues much appreciated...thanks dd368

The vast majority of the water in a Thermal store's linked to the heating side of the system DD368. Find the system drain-off and that should drain the store ... IMHO!

The systemate operates like a modern day invented cylinder....indirect.....hot water is supplied at mains pressure. I have drained primary circuit. Just need to drain cylinder of hot water now but the doc only dribbles........

DOC could be full of sludge. Can you get a hose pipe down the feed and syphon it out never tried it on these but have had to do it on many combined cylinders

if you have drained the heating side then it will be more or less empty. to drain the hot water just turn the mains off and open all taps.

If I am thinking of the right thing this one is seperate from the htg waterI thought it had a coil inside for htg. I could however be thing of completely the wrong thing.

if memory serves me well it has a seperate pump for the heating and primary f+r to cylinder but is the same water feed from the f and e tank sat on the top. pipework connects up at bottom in series.

i bet im thinking of the boilermate?

They were linked to the heating side for sure. This one looks like it has it's own little F&E on the top just for the store! If the drain-off isn't working then I think you may be getting wet! What kind of MT is fitted? Can you do a 'snatch' on it?
