i think the relevant instructions for servicing should be printed on the boiler inside the cover gas rate bp fga settings how to get full rate etc
one boiler used to have a brief mi attached under the boiler that puled out like a scroll
the worst culprits for loosing the mi's are tennants

Yes that is a good idea having the instructions attached to the boiler . 99 % of the boilers I go to dont have any instructions to hand so I usually gas rate it and fga it if possible

definitely an improvement, but even that wouldnt solve it, if a boiler is oversized for the flat its in to protect itself even in service mode it will modulate down to protect itself from overheating, whether youve finished doing a gas rate or not

my conclusion is its not possible to stick to that particular reg in regards to modern boilers

then simply follow the MIs they override the regs as previously posted by another member of this forum.
In college the first word i learnt was MI...

what boiler does that?

every boiler will eventualy exit service mode if you leave it long enough and it will be to hot to put back into service mode again.

Inlet working pressure, meter working pressure, FGA and gas rate. Can't do much more than that. If they're all ok then chances are it's burning ok. Obviously you still need to do the other appliance checks. Most modern boilers have a service mode. If you have a smart phone, Google the boiler and you will most likely find the info you need as a PDF to download.

yes, but it wont modulate down in service mode, just reach temperature or after time exit service mode
