Said that ages ago it's my pet hate!

Everyone came a me back screaming angle grinder so gave it a go with a thin inox blade and I've been doing it ever since

I must be old fashioned, I'm still using a hacksaw can't say it takes long though, mark a line round and cut in sections?!

We use a hand mitre saw with a multi use blade to keep them nice n square, only takes about 30 seconds to cut

I bought a 18v makita band saw for this its brill,
Makita UK - BPB180Z - 18V LXT PORTABLE BAND SAW

Its not cheap but its worth having in the van, as handy for many other jobs,

Yep use my m18 all day long. Use a flue clamp as a guide and to keep u square. I wouldn't use a mains one they are like a jumping jack

Our firms got a milwalkie one. brilliant for steel, threaded bar owt really. the band sometimes comes off which mays you jump.

I have never heard anyone on our trade counter complaining how long it took to cut a flue, but I've heard hundreds moaning that their mate/the apprentice cut it too short.

No ray, it's the tool WHO measures it too short that's the issue.

The band saw 18v cuts it like butter . Its variable speed and ive never had any movement with mine . If so then blade needs tightning but be akit smoother than reciprocator .

Should still chamfer the edge so it won't push the rubber out
