So.... Im thinking I may have fault found the fault....... I have tonight removed the radiator and flushed it through outside... It flows all ways....... I have turned the lock shield on and it runs into a bucket no problem. I have turned the TRV on and it runs into a bucket. I put the radiator on and still nothing....... The only thing I can think now is that the TRV isn't allowing water through it as an outlet. Ive proven it works fine as an inlet flow but as an outlet I can't prove its working.... anyone else got any ideas?

Swap it onto the horizontal instead of the vertical so it sits like this

instead of this

and you have reversed the flow without messing around. You should be able to do it live without any mess if the radiator is out the way.

I shall try that in the morning Tamz. Does what I have said about my fault finding seem plausible? I assume I shall have to drain down the pipework too?

Solved...... So seemingly looking for the complicated problem is an absolute waste of time and go for the simple.... Thanks to Tamz for his patience and help via PM... this morning I have re-balancedthe system and hey presto..... everything is good and hot... thankyou everyone for your help.
