Nothing wrong with sand & cement screeds
It's just horses for courses

They work differently for different environments

I'd say move the ufh pipes and charge as an extra or leave it and risk a problem in the custards eyes and having to take screed up to move?

I ve moved the pipes for him, got builder to mark out the size of the hearth in marker pen and then took photos of the underfloor pipe showing it doesn t enter the hearth footprint. I then got the owner on site with the builder to confirm they were happy with the new position and told him any further alterations would be chargeable. I also got him to look at the pressure gauge on the pressure test and confirm he was happy it was holding pressure as expected. I then told him I want him to sign a letter I ve written on headed paper to say he had inspected the pipe locations and the pressure and any damage to pipework between now and screed going down is not my responsibility. He was reluctant but said he will do it once he comes back in a couple of days and sees pressure has held.

You re right the underfloor probably won't come on when log burner is on, but no one knows how much he ll use that.
