What about the overheat on immersion? Can't see all failing inc temp and pressure relief unless someone had been playing around!I know of one that blew up in N.I. a legal battle for damages in the high court which may still be going on.
Commercial premises 300 litre stainless with two immersions fitted, installation was sound problem was the thermostat failed in the immersion and the PRV didn't release.
Took out a big chunk of the roof and a block wall beside it, no casualties which is probably why it didn't get any press, I have been promised pictures when the case is finished.

Hi All,
got m unvented course tommorow, any pointers or advice or questions, much appreciated.
I know very little except that it is a 1 day course.
Is there an exam at end? is it easy or hard? do you know straight away if you pass / fail?
Or could it possible be that when Part G of the building Reg's changed in 2010 (& it was publicised in the trade press) only a few silly people like me bothered to down load it (all free of charge) & read it to find out what was now required by the law ?
Of course you would now know what is required to be installed to every newly installed bath (not replacement for some reason) QUOTE]
off the top of my head isnt this new builds only ? i think it doesnt apply to extensions etc i might be wrong just trying to remember

If the extension required planning then it will be required for any new bath installed, it is my understanding that it is only where it is a like for like swoop where the blending valve set to 48deg C max is Not required. Although I would be suggesting to the client to have one installed, what are they to buy £40-50 for a TMV2, as I understand it more people die each year from scalding than from CO poisoning, let alone the scarring. We should have followed Scotland you introduced this close to ten years ago.
but i like my baths HOT
