I will start a heating upgrade on Monday removing a old glowworm boiler and upgrading the system from a y plan to a s plan , new pump , twin channel programmer , room stat , auto bypass , new Trv's and lockshields, am I right in thinking I will need a pump overrun facility for this boiler all controls are in the airing cupboard, boiler is wall mounted in the kitchen , may need extra wiring is my thought ? . Regards kop

dont think the pure needs a pump over run but a permanent supply and switched live is needed

Morning Mate. I believe that they do need a pump overrun. However vaillant have said in the past that it doesn’t (not sure if they have now changed this stance) they also sold an extra capacitor that could be fitted to counter act not having a pump overrun on some boilers.(this may have been for BG only though) personally if the timer isn’t downstairs and the customer doesn’t want to run a new cable to the pump I would fit a MAINS LINK RF. if you google it you will find it.

Not stainless on the pure Shaun. It is alloy. Also if you don’t have one on large systems you will end up with the burner cycle cutting in and out as the boiler cannot get rid of the heat quick enough.

So needs a pump overrun to prevent shock on the alum hex

Update chaps pump over run was needed luckily there was enough wires there went well and quite a nice boiler to install kop

Do you know what pump they have inside?
Just putting together a quote for. 625 and want to be sure it’s man enough

From memory it's that new Grunfos one, the UPM3?

I always put the pump in 100% mode though in the settings, D.014 I think. Number 5 is 100%, 0 is Auto. Don't have any issues.
