Transit connect , good van

Might get a pick up

What a stupid idea. Is that so your tools are easier to knick and the back seat is unusable ? Had a ford ranger platinum - 2009 heap of cack. Didn't have a back on and used to put stuff in back get home it was either broken scratched damp or missing

The first picture is a beluga whale and the second is a new transit.

Had mine 4 years , I got van from main dealer when it was 18m old and had 13k on it ! So far :
new clutch+DMF
1 glow plug
total mileage to day 85k

I think is how you drive your van too , + new engine or gear box will be covered by manufacture guarantee

Up to what age are the good ones? Sure you said the newer ones were made elsewhere now?

The new "toyota" van is called a power ace, it's a peouget. If it's a hiace, it's a good one. Buy as new as you can afford, the cam belt interval is ten years! Ugly and slow, but it'll start and get you there.

Would love a transporter but think just gonna have to go for reliability over anything

I think they're so nice! But then I even think hiace look ok lol

The he custom and connect are nice but the actual transit is hideous it's gone on sale in USA for the first time ever hence it's big grill. They've taken a work horse made the cab like a car all low and compact given it a massive forehead and a fat bum.

When I'm in a van I want to feel like I'm in a van I want to be high up plenty of room. The problem for has created is now there is no going back. That is the future of commercial vehicles. It is also a lazy design it's the back end of an iveco and a sprinter front. I HATE IT.

Also there is no swb low roof version so us transit drivers have been moved into a custom which is a 1 ton van ment to compete on the despatch market.

Ford have really dropped a testicle here. I see more people moving into the vivaro market come September providing they can produce something reliable.

Ah I see so there's a new transit coming out to go with custom and connect? Didn't know that!

Out of interest has anyone downsized recently if so how do you find it? I'm thinking of outing my transit swb and getting the lwb connect.

I do both instal and repair work so keen to hear from anyone who has downsized or works from a small (but well organised) van

Started in a connect , well organised , got a tranny messy over stocked mess got nissan, even my rubbish is organised . Sales service repair and sleeping

Although had to get a box of climaflex delivered as 2m wasn't ever going to fit in.

Had a kangoo 1st ex gb. Think I paid 3.2k in total. 3 yo with 26kmiles
Bought a connect from auction to sell on.
Crashed kangoo a couple of weeks later. Write off. Ended up keeping the connect.
It was a great van. Far better than the kangoo, I really liked it.
Only problem was it was ex bt so wasn't racked out as well as the kangoo.
Decided I needed a larger van so bought a 4yo vito. Would have prefered a transporter but couldn't justify the extra cost. Vito was a 05 and had rust after 4-5years
I'm now on my second vito. Bought it 4yo with 95k miles. Done 20k so far. Just had to change the exhaust but other than that I've never had any problems with either vito. No rust on this 09 model.

now if you calculate how much you have spent over all , I think would have been cheaper and better if you did get transporter after the cangoo !??
