Sad thing is that there is actually a very good environmental argument for veganism. This isn't a high moral ground issue at all. Fact is we need the environment to sustain our own lives. But bullying and being aggressive is not how you convince people of your ideas. Also, totally un-necessary for the entire bloody planet to become vegan.
And gives all vegans a bad name when you hear about this sort of thing happening. FWIW I have had a friend who is very very close to being vegan, but he has never behaved like a knob about it. Unfortunately, the most militant ones are the ones we know more about, while the normal people who happen to be vegan get on with their lives.

I've been a vegetron since I was ten years old and one of my old mates calls me a "vegetablist" and another refers to me as a "vegetron". Just being silly but I started referring to myself as that because I did find it amusing.
I'm not a militant one though, if anything, being a bloke and a vegetron has led to lots of (mostly light-hearted) grief coming my way any time I'm eating out with friends or colleagues. I can't eat with meat eaters without being grilled (see what I did there?) about all the ins and outs of it, my reasons, my feelings on others eating meat, being asked "what do you eat then?" and such things. I don't even usually tell people but try ordering the veggie option whilst out for a meal and watch the inquisition begin.

Fair play to you. It's really quite rare for a bloke to be a vegivore. Especially us very manly plumber types. I work with a dozen blokes and they all give me grief about it.
