Hi. My washing machine flexi drainage pipe sits into a vertical plastic waste pipe that discharges into the main drain. Is it possible to get a one way valve to fit onto the end of the vertical plastic pipe to prevent a back flow into my kitchen if the pipe ever blocked?

Many Thanks. This is what I was looking for. I only need the one connection but I can blank off the other one and my stand pipe is then sealed.

Well actually it isn't & can't be completely sealed, as water would not be able to run away through the trap but it is greatly reduced. (there is a small hole in that groove between the two inlets)

Thanks Chris, I understand. The reason for my question was 5 years ago noticed dining room wall wallpaper started to
peel off wall. (adjacent to waste pipe in kitchen behind cupboard). After checking found waste pipe blocked and essentially washing machine emptying down wall and under floor. End result moving out for 6 months while downstairs floor removed, de humidifiers running for 2 months to dryout and then new floor and total redecoration. All thankfully covered by house insurance.
Now paranoid and constantly checking waste pipe when washing machine empties. My thought is fitting the V3WM offers a damage limitation solution ifpipe blocks in the future.

Wow, I now understand your fears.

If you do not have already, fit a bit of water proof flooring (a bit of old vinyl would do) under the W/M to throw any leak or drip out to where it is visible.
