Water pressure in upstairs flat dropped after we had work done.

Hi.
About 3 years ago we moved a bathroom from the ground floor to upper floor in our flat and fitted a normal (not power) shower as well.

Our upstairs neighbours have just recently complained ...
" Our biggest problem however is with water pressure in our bath since you made works in your bathroom. It happens a few times when we have a shower and in the middle of it, we have to stop because the water pressure drops considerably and the water temperature changes drastically when your bathroom is used."

Our flats are converted from an old house built in about 1902.
I am concerned that there is a problem with our plumbing which is causing them a problem but also a little sceptical.

We have a Valient Combi boiler that heats all the water and central heating in our flat. The plumber who installed the bathroom upstairs ran cold water pipes upstairs from behind the stopcock so I know he hasn't tapped into "their" part of the plumbing and the hot water obviously comes from our boiler.

Can we be having the drastic effect described on their pressure and is it possible that somehow we are making their hot water run cold , as they have also complained?

If this is the case , and it is our fault what would we be looking at doing / getting done to put it right?

if you share the same incoming main get seperate supplies to each flat to resolve the issues.

If its a 25mm incoming main and as above shared yes it will affect each other !

Not sure if we do, come to think of it have never even seen our water meter , but would it effect their water temperature? Edit- And should it make a difference now when before we also had showers but only on the ground floor.

It does sound like a water supply problem to the building. not necessarily caused by your bathroom works. Can you get someone to test your cold water pressure and volume?

Know how you feel. We have a shared supply with our neighbour. Main thing is to keep on good terms whilst it is resolved. Our stopcock is in our neighbours cellar so if relations suffered it would have been another barrier to resolution. We ended up fitting a cold water storage tank which was much cheaper than having a new supply laid.
