Water Risk Assessment

I Fellows I have been working in some office blocks today and have been asked to carry out a water risk assessment.

I have been working on the air conditioning system i.e. recommissioning it after many months of non use and a couple of minor repairs.

Although I am aware of the potential risks of legionela assositaed with any water system particulary air conditioning systems, but I am not actualy quite what thier after.

Could some one shed any light or recommend a company for this.

Could you recommend a place that does the training & assessments

Is there any specific level of certification that I require ?

I have done work for this organisation for over 10 Years and done similar work many many times but it is not something that I have to take on board however, this is one of my biggest customers and no doubt the need will arise in the future

Howare u going to present ur risk assesment to a company?
This is notsomething u can do from a £200 quid courese
There is a company called Maxigiene based in Thornton clevleys who dothem or Rentokil Hygiene division.

Dakro Envoiromental is a national company with a good level of service.

You need the Legionella Prevention and Water Treatment certificate to be able to do a water risk assessment. Also you need to make sure you have professional indemnity insurance cover as well as public liability insurance.

i did the NICEIC 1 day course at Nationwide Training in Livingston near Edinburgh, it was ok, check their website for price etc, very easy i thought but just a starting point

I got the certificates and insurances etc cause i regulary carry out water treatment on cooling towers and instaling dosing equipment. But I have never done a risk assessment for the wet plumbing in an office block.

I have done a bit of book worm stuff and it seems pretty straight forward
