a mate of a mate has bought 4 houses to do up for rental market ,i have been asked to give a price for the first one to be done up, new boiler, and bath ,toilet and basin pedesal, rip out old bbu and old bathroom suite, there suppling all my price is labour,i don't want to go down the pay by the hour route as i'll loose out as i plan to knock my pan in,so what would you charge,,,,3 to 400 for bath,,,150.toilet,,,150,,,basin,,,200 shower,,,4 to 600 boiler,,,,250 gas fire,am i there or there abouts.

Think you need to do this on a day rate, work out what you want pr day x by how long it will take. mate of a mate just means he is looking for a cheep job, will you get the other 3 houses ?

work on a day rate, things always go wrong as we all know but people always add stuff on.

IF they want a price then, a day for bath, a day for toilet and basin, plus an extra day for things to go wrong, if your doing tiling add whatever that'll take.

Also if they're supplying parts what they will not supply is every fitting you'll need! endless trips to the van for fittings, incl these in day rate, saves arguments.

If you get it, get paid in stages easier to get £400 off of someone than £1000!

Obviously no one on here has seen the job other than you but i would be thinking along the lines of get another plumbs in to help and get job done sharpish . Bathroom suites have a habit of being a pain for starters also what type of boiler going in ?If its a combi will you be doing the hot in 15 mm and remove existing 22 etc etc . Personal experience on a job like this would be not to go in to low as these jobs can prove to be a pain in back end , i would suggest you pick materials you need and your mate pays straight off your account then there is no mess up .
I think £1200 labour is prob decent andfair price but i would suggest to him any unforseen problems then its per hour to sort out .

impossible to say without seeing it but 400 for a bath and only 200 for a shower seems the wrong way round you running all new soils in that price?

shower, bath, will be done together ,stud wall above bath t'd into hot and cold from bath,400 a bit steep, but it's hard to explain and to understand jobs on here something might seem straight forward, but be difficult, and equally difficult to explain.

i would work out how long it will take me and a helper to do and add some time on top if job gets done in stages + all materials !!! dont push it but then lower it down ,just ask for your normal day rate

where abouts are you located? i couldnt dream of charging those prices round here....

£150 for toilet and £150 for basin - how much do you charge for a half day? easy enough to do these two jobs in a half day, i would charge £150 for both!

3-400 for bath?? £120-140 is most i could charge here

200 for shower?? that could be realistic depending on what is needed, however if it is one out one in, again too expensive. (id love to be able to charge that)

boiler and bbu 650-850 together -spot on
