Which replacement boiler?

I've been thinking that it might be about time to replace my sick ariston micro genus, which I originally chose due to it's compact size.

To replace like for like I need something that is no more then 300mm deep, but very few that I have seen come close to this (Ideal Logic and Remeha Avanta being the exception).

So, can anyone recommend me a combi that will fit in my cupboard? 😛

well a performas out of the question which is a shame as its bigger but a cracker of a boiler,others on here will suggest the remaha and i have no reason to disagree as i have no experience of it you could be really be dangerous and have a microgenus 2 he..........only joking buddy they are far worst than what you have already but the performa will just about fit in a cbord i used to fit aristons once not anymore they crap boil;ers and a crap company 150 plus performas fittedvery,very reliable

think the rehema is to big as well sure its 320 cos of the curved front
one of the gloworms fit in a wall unit

Gas man, in all honesty I *would* have considered another ariston but not any more, although maybe my opinion is influenced by BG's inability to fix it... sorry going off topic lol

Who does the performa - wb? I might be able to steal another 10-20mm by chopping out the plaster and mounting straight to the brick...

Steve, what are glow-worms like in terms of reliability? I see the betacom 30 is bang on 300mm!

have a look at intergas, new to the market and very shallow cos you dont have to put the expn vssl behind the boiler, it can be placed away from the boiler (different i know but useful in a case like this). Additionally theres no diverter valves to break as the hw and ch circuits are built into the main heat exchanger, a bonus prehaps, cost wise for a 24/28kw combi around £800 depending on flue and exact spec

It's the other way round! Remeha now own the Baxi group.

Go for the Remeha hands down better then any other boiler mentioned on here fitted Vaillant for ten years and for reliability Remeha are better admittedly newer but fitted 15 in the last few months had no problems! Had loads of Vaillants fail to start straight out of box! Also remeha have stainless steel heat exchangers show good quality. Just to say remeha are owned by Broag huge company in commercial been around for 30 years plus thats how remeha own baxi now!

tbh never had any of the 150 performas fail to work out of the box

the broagg remeha group was a commercial industry.
they had learned how to get it right in the commercial sector, some bright spark then suggested domestic about 7 years ago
they entered domestic sector - and even tho not well known - out way any boiler on the market - price, reliability and follow up !
of the last 120 fitted - 1 instalation problem from factory - required new pcb and bits
not been back to the other's, any problems answered by proper tekkies in minutes !
the price is right, the boiler is good.
wish i worked for them or had shares. they be going up !

a 300mm boiler will not fit in a standard wall unit asi t only measures 290 ish the door brings it to 300

It's very complicated, like all takeovers/mergers. But, yes, they effectively own the lot as Remeha is the majority shareholder in a new holding company called BRD Thermea, which has been set up to own Remeha and the Baxi Group.
