I'll admit i swipe my screen when a text come in and glance at it but not reply. Wrong but I'm being honest.

I was turning right and another car this morning (actually it was a builder in a van) he was trying to turn past my van with one hand on the wheel as he was holding his phone against his head. Pathetic.

Never...
Under new rules expected to come in next year, drivers caught using mobile phones while driving will get six points on their licence and face a £200 fine.

Same here, if it`s that important I`ll pull over to deal with it otherwise it can wait.

Drove past a police car then parked up to continue the call and the copper pulled in behind me.
Gave me the lecture but didn`t book me but he did say the company would also get a big fine as well as me getting fined. True or False?

True as your driving under the company and if taking work calls should supply you with hands free kit

The works vans have the kits, in this case it was a hire van with no kit fitted. Just wondered if he was blowing smoke or not.

Anyone find this with hands free kits..............

I`m fine doing a quick social call but find loss of concentration happens if I`m helping a colleague with a technical question.

maybe some sort of system where you can dob people in for money, say £50 for every pic of someone holding a phone.

You do see the irony here, don't you....

I always use the handsfree. It's crap but it's my license, not whoever's on the other end.

I was in a loan van last November and got caught and done. £60 + 3 points. Ain't happening again!

I was pulled buy the MOD plod whilst queuing to get into RAF Lakenheath a few weeks ago, they gave me a proper grilling which I could not understand as I was stationary with my engine not running

Is that the van manufacture`s built in kind? Have heard Ford and Vauxhall kits are rubbish. Had my Parrot kit wired to the stereo volume control, goes a lot louder now.

I believe it's classified as being in charge of a vehicle.

Most phones come with earpiece and Mike there is absolutely no need for anyone to get caught using a mobile. Even if you have to buy a hands free they cost from £25 upwards, the fine is minimum £60 you are £30-35 better off.

Still behind the wheel on public roads

blue tooth in my ear and full digitised alpine in the van.
it can pick up or dial from either source by voice command.

no excuse, if there was a finders fee i would dob anyone in holding a mobile whilst driving!!!

yet then, there is a customer of mine in a high profile job at boots somewhere in his late 30's.
text me your available dates i said, he replied he would email me as he dont own a mobile.

theres one worth thinking about!!🙂

Pulled up next to my doctor at the light years back, he was on his phone. Gave him one of my Paddington bear looks. He ended the call! Must have not been important.

Lot of money being produced for the treasury......if the government was serious about stopping it it could change the law to say ban you from driving for say 28 day's......just thinking about the total inconvenience this could have would deter most but not all......many would still do it ...but to stay on the road 3 points and £60 fine seem's not enough of a deterrent........the government have had to act due to some terrible accidents in the new's lately.......be careful Turnpin

I don't talk on my love in full view of people so I'm a way let the government take money off them...as long as they do something worthwhile with it and not just give it to the fat cat NHS bosses.

I done the course after getting caught on the phone , it stopped me for a while however habit is slowly returning .
What i seem to find tho it always rings when i am driving.

I used to do it all the time, got caught twice and now have 6 points. Safe to say I don't do it anymore unless on handsfree.

Was that just for being caught once? How come it went to court?

Because the ****ing arseholes sent all stuff to wrong address so I Got convicted in my absence. Eventually found out nod had to go court for it they reduced it from £534 to about £280 butt if they sent it to right place originally I could of done course

My phone is on voicemail only during the day, haven't got time for the effing thing to be going off all day. If missus needs me then she texts and I phone back
