Hi,
I am in the middle of upgrading my heating system in my house as follows:
Old system - kerosene boiler simply providing heat to the radiators and heat to the domestic hot tank.
New system - my plumber has installed a gledhill T277RE thermal store tank which replaces my hot tank upstairs. He has linked the kerosene boiler to the tank and also installed a solar system. The radiators are all pumped from the thermal store and the domestic hot water is delivered via a coil in the tank at mains pressure. This system will be finished tomorrow and will be operational.
I addition to this I have purchased and installed a Stratford TF90B boiler stove in my living room and fitted a new twin walled flue. I want to link this stove to the thermal store and would like some advice on the best practice / safest way to do this. I have called Stratford technical support but they have not been much help. My plumber is happy to carry out the work but is not too keen to commission the system as wood burning stoves are not something they specialise in.
In conversations with my plumber the best way to do this would be to link the Stratford to the thermal store with flow/return pipes and tee off a fairly large radiator which would be installed in the attic which would take any excess heat. I assume this system would be pumped and would have pipe stats fitted.
Any help would be very much appreciated. I would be happy to pay for the right advice if neccessary...
Thanks,
Graeme.
