Worcester Boiler is crashing/lockout randomly when using central heating.

Hello, I've previously had an issue with my boiler pressure getting too high with the central heating on and needing a reset. I had a gas plumber come round and he swapped the expansion vessel. The pressure issue seems to be fixed but now there is another issue...

When I turn the central heating on, the radiators will start to warm up but the boiler will crash/need reset. This happens at random times after I turn the CH on, it could crash after 10 minutes or 30 mins ... or over an hour. The pressure always seems okay - 1.5 to 2.

If I only use the hot water then I have no problems. It's a Worcester combi boiler

The gas man had a look over the connections again and said the next step is replacing the nodes?... and then PCB and Gas valve. This could end up costing a lot. Any advice on how I should proceed?
The error code is a consistent blink, an even on/off rhythm.. I was told this is an ignition error...

You need a gas engineer who can fault find and not just chuck part after part at it.

If it looks like looking costly contact WB for a fixed price repair.

Yep they still do it think it’s gone up tho £325 but they will replace parts until it’s fixed

Thanks guys. The fixed price option looks interesting. Now I've looked into it.... I see British gas offer a fix and 12 month cover for £300.. which seems like a better deal unless I'm missing something?

That does seem like a better deal with cover but my instincts would still be to go with WB fixed price. Depends where this is going as Shaun says if a big ticket item like the hex or PCB needed replacing WB would throw parts at it till it's fixed but I suspect BG would drag their feet to minimize their outlay. If it's a simpler less costly fix then the BG deal makes more sense.

And bg would have to order parts normally the Worcester lads have everything on the van
