Worcester ri fan issue.

Just come back from a worcester RI

no power to the boiler.

tested for live and switch live from the wiring centre all good.

2 amp slow blow fuse is blown.

unplugged everything i could and took the pump off the wiring centre (poor condition so it was suspect)
replaced fuse

switched on and i get my nice shiny light.

off and plug fan back in.

turn back on to get a blinding flash, sparks and a small fire starting from the fan.

power off and patted it out.

anyone else had similar issues? Im curious

rang worcester as it turns out its in warranty.
wont come out till a loft ladder is installed, lighting and boarded out.

It will be cheaper to buy a fan than a loft ladder etc!

Never had that happen and all I fit it Worcesters.

Should have had the ladder etc fitted before install though, so that will be ongoing if any other problems develop whilst under warranty.

going back now, picking up a loft ladder, boards andm y sparky friend is on his way to bung in some lighting. I will get my money XD

I had that happen a couple of times, most recent was on a conventional cdi a few weeks back....

Always check transformer on PCb when the PCb on the fans go. Have had 3 that we're blown to bits. You can pull it off the board and look at it underneath.
