York & Surrey Flange Problem

Hi guys. I'd really appreciate some advice on this one.

Basically I have installed a shower pump (all ok) and of course the recommendation is to fit an aeration Flange at the top of the hot water tank. Makes sense.

However - my water tank has a 22mm male input on the top and the couple of S Valves I have tried only have 1" BSP connections/adapters. So - I need advice on a way around this.

I first thought a 1" to 22m simple bush may be available - but I am advised not.

So, now I am thinking : Compression 22mm x 1 BSP Male Straight Coupling, then a 22mm brass socket to connect to the tank. - but can't find a 22mm brass socket, only 1" BSP.

I am a bit stuck now and really need some help. I do not want to change the tank.

Tee down off the horizontal pipe from your tank. Same difference.

You could change it for an Essex flange.

Thanks for the reply. An Essex means drilling the tank. Want to avoid that if possible. But may have to go down that route if no alternative. Cheers Chalked.

How can I connect the 1" flange female connector if I tee of the horizontal pipework?

Forget the flange.

As an alternative to a flange you can Tee off the top of your tank, first connection before hot feed Tee for shower feed. For this to work you need to hot feed pipe to run at a angle and connect the shower at 45 degrees to allow the air to go up the open vent pipe and move through top of the pipe (your Tee will be at the bottom so hopefully no air will enter the pump)
