Hi we came home this afternoon to our Nest not connecting to the Heatlink and we can smell a little gas around Vaillant Ecotec plus 630.
Tried a number of times to get the nest to connect to the heatlink, but it will not. We can use the heatlink override to get heating and hot water on, but...
Evening everyone, I’ve got this lovely little bungalow that I’m struggling to get my head around the heating on. It’s a F and E system with 8 radiators, and I’m not really very clued up on central heating, or even plumbing in general, but the whole set up seems quite odd.
The pipe into the main...
Hi all,
We recently moved into an eight bed victorian B&B. Th previous owners had a very, very relaxed attitude to maintenance and improvement!
We have found two radiators that have leaked (perforated), suggesting inhibitor wasn't used for some period. On removing one on the ground floor, it...
We recently decided to have all of our central heating replaced - pipes, radiators, boiler, everything. We have a 6 bedroom house with 1 bathroom, 1 shower room and a WC. The house has stone floors downstairs, and is old. We have 15 radiators total.
We were quoted for a 32kw Worcester or...
pricing up a heat only swap here just want to know what's involved. Baxi solo2 customer wants the main compact (no pump over run I believe).
Haven't looked for the compact wiring diagram yet but is this going to be straight forward for me?
Thanks in advance 🙏
Both showers/baths have either very hot or very cold or no cold water at all. Problem fixed itself for a couple months then came back yesterday. The pressure drops for a few seconds with waves of water from shower head. Hot water heater only 9 months old. All other faucets work normally...
Hi.
I've an oil-fired condensing boiler (11 years old) in the garage which has two external pumps (Wilo RS50s). I decided to flush out the system and after emptying it via the lower ground floor radiator added Fernox F5 to the tank and turned the supply back on. Running the system leads to the...
In these challenging times we are all going through I had some very happy news yesterday, my eldest son and his partner are expecting their first child in October although I am delighted to be a grandad again and to see him happy after some sh--ty times he's gone through making some bad choices...
Last job before my short break - a head in ya hands moment how many installation faults on this install ???, gas all in 22mm 28 kw boiler inset gas fire , and gas hob must be at least 18m of pipe so that number 1 ;) ;) kop
I'm installing a new search engine at the moment so the forum may lag a little while I'm compiling a new search index.
Once it's done I'll be able to give you some commands to play around with in searches which should help you find content quicker and easier.
So we have anew build (if it matters) and we removed 1 radiator, and we will exchange 1 with vertical.
My questions are:
Does it matter which pipe we will connect where on the vertical radiator?- We want it to be connected on the top to avoid extending the existing pipes (they are flexible...
Hi everyone,
Looking for some advice about whether there is any risk from a pipe in a flat I just moved into (not in UK).
Under the kitchen sink, the cold water enters through a copper pipe that has been bent upwards in a weird shape so that it can reach the sink. They’ve done this because a...
Around 3 years ago, an engineer who was used to work for us installed this boiler. The flue was in my opinion too close to the internal corner of the house but he told me it was fine, I was training for my gas at the time so who was I to argue. You'll see from the pic there is also a window...
Evening people,
What’s your opinions on using the above for a 5kw stove. The stove circs will be utilising a heat leak in the bathroom and it’s own f&e tank. The upper coil would be for oil fired heat only boiler and S/Y plan and rads/ underfloor heating. Customer wants simplicity. I’ve not...
Hi everyone
Currently living in the North East not a million miles away from Middlesbrough.
Just popping on here hoping for a little advice from experienced guys .. Warning diyer alert
Cheers Andy
I have talked to a couple of people about servicing and read some stuff about it on the net.
Normally the filters are cleaned but the water is not cleaned and flushed as the plumber has to wait for 2 hours or so depending on inhibitor and flushing would take more time, though I am not talking...
Hello guys,
I was just thinking today about the following:
If you get called out for land lord gas safety check and you find let’s say an ID cooker obviously you will do first your procedures but for instance if he doesn’t think it’s ID and he is not willing to pay you for the works what would...
