I have purchased a 60s bungalow with gas hot air heating installed underfloor. Hot water is supplied by an auxillary gas direct heater of dubious efficency all courtesy of Johnson and Starley.

Hi, I'm not a plumber but a retired householder who used used to do some of my own plumbing. The CH system in our house was installed before the days of compulsory trv's and just has a lockshield valve and a control valve on each radiator. Many of these have not been touched for over 20 years...

Am I allowed to do it myself? I have done many times in Europe and would do it if I was allowed to undertake the works.

Hi all,

This 15mm copper pipework then splits into 2 x 15mm copper pipes, 1 pipe feeding the cold mains and 1 pipe feeding the unvented combi boiler.
