Incorrect boiler installation ?

I am gsr, clearly you can tell that lol if you have doubts ask me anything, so at what point of an install mentions magnacleanse as minimum and what associations does cleaning have to do with gas safe, water quality is the first test they’ll do as they know older systems will fail with minimum cleaning requirements meaning they can void warranty, define servicing lol

So have you sent us your gas safe details?

Just a quick update and big thank you to all who have replied to my post.
The engineer called back and made some alterations and the boiler seems fine now.

Yes, the main problem was the flow and return pipes where wrong, you can see the flow now goes to the pump. The filter is now on the return pipe to the boiler.
Also a bypass as been fitted.

Oh no! I said I was happy as boiler ran for over an hour with no problems. I don't really want to bother the engineer again.

Have you got a pic of your airing cupboard, you may not need a bypass depending on setup. If you do require it though it will need moving.

I've had a look and I believe its a three position valve (y plan?) so would this be ok? I am assuming if no demand for heat or water then the valve is in the middle and so there is a path back to the boiler in case of frost protection coming on?

If your on a 3 port then a bypass shouldn't be required. When there's no demand for heat the valve rests in the hot water position. The reason for a bypass is for s plan systems where once the boiler shuts off, the pump continues to over run to dissipate heat from the boiler. With zone valves theres no where for the heat to go so a bypass is fitted instead. In your case this shouldn't be an issue as during pump over run, the water will circulate the hot water circuit. The only reason I can think you may require a bypass, is if you have trvs on every radiator. In this situation, if your only calling for heat to the radiators and all trvs close, you'll have no where for the water to flow, so a bypass would still be required, but even then, it's still in the wrong place.

Yes should be after the pump. Should have at least a 2m run of pipework.

Not knowing if the engineer actually set it up and whether it will actually work in that position, I'm going to say it should be ok, but I'd still advise you get it removed.

Don’t know specifics. Was always told as long as it is in between the pump and controls.
