Got to be fast track plumbers who dont really know what their doing diamond 😉

I disagree actually. I've seen time served guys put in stuff like this. It's as much to do with attitude as with training a lot of the time. I worked with fast trackers and time served guys when I was at Iguana/eagaheat/CES and some of the stuff done by the guys who had served an apprenticeship was awful.

A lot of the stuff seen on this thread is not done through ignorance but because people can't be bothered to spend the time and effort to do it the right way.

I spent 2 hours getting a system working properly yesterday. A new rad had been installed by a guy who had served his time on a local firm and went on his own a few years ago. He just teed into the nearest heating pipes and ran plastic to the new rad. This now left 4 rads running off 15mm and I struggled to get the system to work with any sense. Apparently he didn't even test fire after the install, just fitted it, filled it and effed off.

:iagree: I knew of a good few BG Service engineers that I wouldn't let loose doing pipework! They'd had little experience of installation! Attitude makes a big difference in this game IMHO! Having pride in what you do makes a big difference in the quality of work you turn out I believe 🙂

I would never condone poor pipe work etc. but when your prices are getting slashed and works thin on the ground it's tempting.

Not one I've seen personally, I saw it on Twitter! You'd like this one Colin!

So if I do a 12 week course will I end up in here 😀
Tom that shower somehow reminds of the movie Alien!

Plumb08......nope you won't, as someone said earlier, many time served guys shouldn't be let loose on the public. It's all about attitude, whether you care or not to produce a quality install. Sadly going by all the pictures many can't be bothered. :banghead:

It does look rather space-like & futuristic! Still doesn't make it right though does it! Utter poop really!

It is both frustrating & embarrassing having to repair another tradesman's sub-standard work! I pride myself on taking great care & paying attention to detail in all my jobs, whether it be budget jobs or bespoke ones! Shame others don't do the same! It's all about the quick buck to them I guess!

I couldn't work out what everyone was going on about at first but then I noticed how wonky the tiles were.

This made me look twice. Property was a converted bungalow. This was the workaround for topping up the new rads upstairs.
