Hi opinions please
replacement boiler same location as old, descending water pipes adapted to fit with 3 compression fitting each so each has 2 90 bends, short horizontal pipes and a coupler.
overall 6 fittings with 12 olives and 4 bends all above new boiler, previously straight unjointed...
I’m doing some 4” soil and I’m having a debate about what can be done with these fittings. They’re both 45s. The double socket has a ring seal on it facing up and the spigot of the other 45 goes into it the bottom. The 2nd 45 is then glued on the spigot and socket. Is this acceptable?
Hi guys I'm just fitting a new concealed shower valve in my home.
My question is I bought 2 22x15 adapting couplers and 2 15x15 adapting couplers, even with 15 wraps of PTFE I have a feeling the thread isn't going in far enough, I can literally tighten it all the way by hand ,
Is their any...
I'm in the process of converting my garage. I've been looking for the existing radiator feeds. I came across these. Are they reducers? Don't know why they would be insulated?
Had to replace my kitchen sink waste strainer and have struggled to find a direct replacement. The old fitting is plastic with a screw on top to tighten to the sink. The length is 60mm with a 45mm thread diameter which screws into existing pipework. I shopped around and managed to source a new...
Hi
Have a little job under kitchen sink and need to know how to identify fittings (valve, tee, coupler) suitable for drinking water.
Should I be looking for only EN-1254-1 or EN 1254-2 or something else?
For example, is this one good for drinking water...
Looking at replacing a stainless steel welded 90 metre water system in press fit. Its going to cost about £18k in Mapress but I have seen M-Press are alot cheaper on their fittings. Has anyone got any experience with M-press 89mm fittings. Just wondering if they are cheap for a reason.
I've searched this forum but cannot see anyone else reporting a similar problem with the last generation grey Hep2O fittings: they unscrew!
Our whole house was re-plumbed in 1999/2000 and Hep2O fittings were used throughout for all out-of-sight fittings - just over 200 of them. One evening...
I've recently cleared a fatberg from the drain pipe underfloor and am now in the process of fitting everything back together.
The cropped out pipework is easy enough; a couple of Flexseal PF56 couplings which are just the right size for the 56mm OD pipe. The boiler condensate drain I will...
Was at a house today and their new oil boiler was installed in a pretty shoddy fashion.
Aka Plastic tiger loop screwed to the boiler casing.
And the main thing was really untidy pipework. Thrown together with a pile of grey plastic push fittings and copper / plastic pipe mix. For example...
We have located a leak from a shower enclosure...culprit is the riser bar, as soon as water is hitting the bar it's coming through into our kitchen ceiling. Having difficulty getting the fittings off the wall too to investigate .
I see there are various previous threads on this and other sites which discuss Hep2o fittings, I use these fittings and have not had any issues with any that I have fitted, however I have become aware of a few recently which have failed, I know of a block of 45 flats ( 7 years old) where each...
Hi
Could someone help please. I live in an old house and I'm refurbishin the bathroom, the mains water connection is an odd size and need to convert to 15mm pipe. I have tried 22mm pipe too big and tried 20mm pipe too small, I have been reading up and I think it's 3/4 imperial pipe so about...
I understand that, at least in the USA, the term "Lead Free" means "not more than a weighted average of 0.25% lead when used with respect to the wetted surfaces of pipes, pipe lead-free compression fittings, plumbing fittings and fixtures."
In other words, Lead Free does not necessary mean Zero...
Hi,
This must have been discussed in the past but with a quick search I couldn't find the answer I wanted.
What is the view of using support sleeves inside copper pipes for compression joints.
(The pipes in question are 28 mm and 35 mm diameter so I'd expect them to be pretty strong anyway.)...
Hi all, I have a sewage pump that I want to add hard pipe to to allow easy fitting and removal.
The picture shows the fitting that is screwed into the pump, I need this fitting on the end of a 1.5m pipe at right angles to the pump.
I have seen a heavy duty grey type pipe used for this but I...
Have noticed my success rate with compression fittings fall over the last year or so. Am getting a few that weep. When I back to nut off to have a look the olive isn't over tighthed and I always clean the pipe first. Wondering if anyone else has noticed this whether it's just me or the quality...
Evening all,
Basically my question is how deep must a 15mm copper pipe be inserted into a push fitting for it to function properly without leaking? I Bought this Tap Tail Adapters from Toolstation this morning and I am wondering if they are deep enough. I tried to install a new mixer tap this...
Apologies for the stupid question, I'm just a newbie playing under the sink.
I have an isolation valve and an elbow, both of which have compression fittings that would normally fix to copper pipe.
I need to connect both together directly. What is the correct fitting to do this? Surely I don't...
Hi guys. Do any of you know whether the grey poly plumb fitting and inserts can be used the white polyfit pipe? Can’t seem to find a local stockist of the older white polyfit fittings.
