Morning all. Just about to install a crosswatwr shower valve and want to connect in the valve with end feed 22mm x 3/4 male. Manual says not to use tapered threads. Cannot find parallel out there that come with end feed.
Any ideas
Thanks
Afternoon, all.
Currently have proprietary diverter valve on shower riser with handheld outlet standard 1/2" BSP male and inlet also 1/2" BSP male. The outlet to overhead shower is custom female fitting and feeds a larger diameter chrome covered plastic pipe feeding large and inefficient...
Has anyone used it?
I have a Screwfix leaflet in front of me and their flomasta fitting looks identical, with the telltale green line. Anybody used this one?
Evening all,
can you use compression fittings on stainless steel gas tube? Specifically lever valves and the like
It’s something I’ve not actually done before, usually either get the crimp versions or threaded levers with male crimp adapters. Have tried the manufacturers and they were useless...
Good Afternoon,
As you may guess in the following message, I am by no means a plumber.
My colleague has specifically requested a solvent version of a 110mm 135 Degree waste union to finish a part of a project. I have been having difficulties finding it though. I have found this type of unit...

I am installing a stainless cylinder to be used as a central heating buffer that looks to have 1" female tapered fittings. I was going to thread in brass fittings, but was thinking about galvanic corrosion since dissimilar metals are involved. The water will have inhibitor. The tank is duplex...
Hi
I have recently replaced my old toilet seat hinges (old ones originally fitted by whoever previously owned the house) as one had effectively broken/rusted and so could not be tightened or loosened (had to be forcibly removed). The toilet seat is a quick release fairly standard soft close...
My gas engineer is replacing 6 gas meter boxes. He has discovered when they were installed in 1980 they used PE pipe from behind boxes. This is fine as it's underground. But, there is a metal compression joint, joining copper from box to PE pipe, which is also under ground and hence rusted.
He...
Hello and thank you for helping me out here.
Please see attached pics. Is it normal for the hot & cold pipes coming out of the shower to be some sort of plastic compound?
The only thing preventing the pipes hitting the tiles is a layer of transparent silicone. Is their a better way to do this...
Hi all, I’m currently having ago at fitting a bath. I was supplied with some fittings I cannot figure out what to do with them. I think the larger white pice is perhaps for fixing the bath to the wall. Has anyone used these fittings? If so how do they work. Thanks for having a look.
I've been experiencing water hammer within the house for a couple of months now, which rattles the pipes whenever turning off a tap or an appliance cuts off its supply. I have turned the stop tap off while turning on all taps allowing the system to aerate which fixes the issue for a day or so...
Hello everyone.
Iv just read an article on installers magazine that says how much better gas installers find using copper push fit fittings for a boiler swap.
According to the article, unlike plastic push fit fittings which cant be used in close proximity to the boiler, the copper ones can.
So...
What are the best pipes and fittings to carry steam from a 2.8kW steam generator to a steam cabin for a short pipe distance of 400mm?
Thinking on the technical, the pipework would have a low internal resistance (smooth inside) and full bore so as not to reduce the steam out. I noticed the...
Hi guys.
Not a plumber just a sparky.
Did an EICR on a rental and was looking for the non existent gas bond and just wondered out of curiosity if you can use push fit on gas pipe? Or are these something else?
I have only ever noticed soldered joints by meters before.
I would like to simply cut the flex copper pipe off just past the cut-off valve and attach a Shartbite male fitting or a compression fitting on the remaining copper stub which would be 7/8 inch in length after the cut. Would that meet code? Live in North Texas.
Thanks,
Don
